Wow. It has been a long time since I have posted. A lot has gone on this summer. Jon has shut down his business. He has been looking for an IT job for over a year and has had a hard time finding one. Most companies say that he has been out of the "business world" for too long. So we have had to make some tough decisions. He took a job at Dish Network and quickly was promoted to an IT tech position with Dish. He now has Sunday, Monday and Tuesday off. I have been struggling for a while with my being fulfilled as a stay at home mom. So, with our financial situation struggling and Jon being able to watch the kids some days, I have decided to go to work part time. I am working at Oxford Learning Center three evenings a week as a math tutor and come Sept. 3 I will be teaching at our church's preschool. The best thing about working at the preschool is that the kids get to go for free and I get paid on top of that. With as many kids as I have, that is an unbelievable pro for us! I would be lucky to break even if I went to work somewhere and I had to put my kids in daycare. The kids LOVE it at our church and so it is win-win for me and the kids. I have only gone to work at Oxford two days so far, but I have to say that I LOVE IT!! I can't tell you how much I have missed teaching math! I love my kids but it is so nice to get to talk and work with some adults and to teach a subject that I just love! I know once I start working at the preschool too, it is going to be very hectic, but I think it will be so worth it. My week starting in the fall will look like this...
MONDAY
get up, get self ready, and five kids ready
8:15 load everyone into car including backpacks and lunches
8:40 drop Drew off at Westwood Elementary School (he is in the 4 year old preschool)
9:00 arrive at church, get classroom ready
9:30 take triplets and Kensie to their classrooms and greet my class
11:30 Jon goes to pick up Drew at school and spends time with him
2:30 pick up triplets and Kensie, clean up my classroom
2:45 Jon meets me at church, we switch cars, I head out for Oxford, he takes kids home
3:30 start tutoring at Oxford
8:30 finish up tutoring and head home
Tuesday
8:40-11:30 Drew at school
Jon and I get a day to spend with the kids
3:30-8:30 I work at Oxford
WEDNESDAY
repeat schedule from Monday except I just take all the kids home after church preschool. Somehow, I will need to get Drew to the church after his school. We will either have him ride the bus or Marianne will pick up or I will leave church to go get him...we haven't decided what is the best option yet.
THURSDAY
repeat schedule from Monday except I will go to Oxford from 6-8pm
FRIDAY
8:40-11:30 Drew at school
AHHH day at home
We are so thankful that some things have worked out for us this summer financially. I can tell you that we have had some huge hurdles and we have gotten so much closer to God through this process. Keep us in your prayers as we still have some things to work through, but we KNOW that God will get us through this tough time.

Kensie
Yesterday, Kensie learned how to pull herself up to standing all by herself. Thank God, because lately, all she wants me to do is hold her hands so she can stand up like her brothers and sisters. Now, after learning how to do it herself, she is doing it all the time. She is so proud of herself (as am I) that she is getting closer and closer to keeping up with all the other kids. Now, when I put her down for her nap, she immediately pulls herself up to standing. Tonight when I put the triplets to bed, by the time I made it out, she had already crawled into the kitchen and was starting to open cabinets! It brought back memories to when Drew first learned how to do this and then the triplets. I remember with the triplets, they were quickly not allowed in the kitchen with me because I couldn't get anything done with the three of them conquering all the cabinets! Some of my cabinets have locks on them but there are some cabinets that just can't be locked. There is no lock that will work on them. Anyway, Kensie is off to the races!

Mother's Day
I am being a little sentimental this Mother's Day. I don't know why this mother's day is any different, but I am thinking about how I want my kids to think of me. I want my kids to remember me as a mother who was so happy just being a mother. Here lately I have been kind of in a funk. I have been sad about how having five kids under the age of four has restricted me to the house most days, how financially hard it is to have five kids (four in diapers!! Do you know that we go through a box of diapers a week??), how Jon and I have to work extra hard to stay connected as a couple, etc. But, you know what? I wouldn't trade my kids or my situation for anything. Most days, I sit back and I look at my kids and watch how they interact with each other...they are good friends, they will always have that! How cool will it be when they are all grown up and they will bring their families over to our house and we will sit at our BIG dining room table and enjoy each other's company. Do you know how many grandkids we could have??? I always wanted a big family and now I have one. I am going to try real hard and enjoy this time with them, because you know what? Before too long, they will be in school and I will be going crazy with all the silence in the house during the day! So, all their tantrums and fights over toys, are just short term. Showing kindness to each other and promoting family closeness...that is my long term goal.

Drew's First Field Trip with his preschool class at Oakcrest Elementary
On April 9, Drew got to go on his first field trip. He got to ride the school bus (which he LOVED). And, thankfully, Jon's mom came over to watch the younger kids so that I could attend as a chaperone. They went to Safari's Wildlife Sanctuary here in Broken Arrow. It was a lot of fun. The weather could have been a little better, though...overcast and drizzling. In fact, the next day, school was cancelled because of flooding! Anyway, here is a slideshow.

Soccer and Swimming
Drew begins swimming lessons tomorrow and soccer lessons on Friday. He is so excited. I am really interested to see how it goes. The nice thing about his soccer is that it is indoors and they just teach the basics and fundamentals and no games at least not at his age. Here is a pic of him in his soccer uniform.

A Sh*tty Weekend...literally
Ok, so don't be offended by my title...It was just too perfect a title to pass up. You will understand after you read this...It all started Friday night, we were going to have Family Movie Night so Jon took Drew to go pick out a movie, while I stayed back and gave the triplets a bath while Kensie played on the floor. I had just gotten Macie out and gotten her dressed. I went back in to get the boys and noticed poop floating in the tub. So, I scoop the boys up and put them in the shower, clean them off all the while they are screaming because they have never been in the shower and are scared. So, I get it all cleaned up and we go up stairs to watch our movie…Diego, of course. We had decided that this would be the weekend that we transition the triplets into the upstairs bedroom and into their big kids beds. We have had this room set up for a long time but just too chicken to move them. So we keep them up a little later to wear them out and put them to bed. It actually went really smooth. We had to go in there a few times but once asleep, they slept all night, no problems. So, Saturday was their cousin, Caleb’s, birthday party. We go to that and they have a really busy day. So, that night, Jon was giving the triplets a bath while I was giving Kensie a bath. Drew was in the shower. Cade stands up in the tub and says, “poop” as he poops in the tub. Jon was able to grab Macie and Cole and then Cade and get them out of the tub, but not without scaring them to death. So, they are all sitting on the bathroom floor naked and crying. I just finished up with Kensie and heard the commotion so I come in holding Kensie in her towel. I give Kensie to Jon to finish dressing her and I march the triplets to the other bathtub to finish up their bath. So, here are three naked toddlers walking to the next bathtub. I start the water, Macie is standing in front of Cole and all of a sudden Cole proceeds to pee on Macie. Poor Macie…someday she is going to have some ammunition to use against Cade and Cole…being pooped on by one and peed on by the other all in the same evening. So, I scoop them up and put them in the tub while cleaning up the pee. For some reason, the past three baths, Cade has pooped in the tub. The first two times were at the end of the bath…not too bad. This was the first one where they were all in there not bathed yet. So, we proceed on with our evening, they act like they are exhausted, so we put them to bed early…still in the new room and new beds. Jon had to go deliver two computers so I was here by myself trying to get them to go to bed and not party, get Drew to bed, and get Kensie to bed. I think I went into the triplets’ room about 20 times, including a time to change Macie because she had pooped, changing Cole because he pooped, etc. Meanwhile, Drew went to bed (he puts himself to bed now, thank God, just tells us Night Night and walks into his room to bed no problems.) Kensie was put to bed, but cries a few times so I am going up and down the stairs between the triplets’ room and Kensie’s room comforting and telling to get back in bed. Finally, as I tell my exhausted self that the next time I have to go in to the triplets then I am just going to put them back into their cribs, they decide to give up and go to sleep. So, I crash to sleep myself. So, the next morning, is church. We have really been struggling at making it to church every Sunday. It is so difficult, but so important to us. Anyway, I hear on the monitor the triplets waking up. So, I slowly wake up (still exhausted) and I hear the monitor go to fuzz…so I know that they have unplugged the monitor. So, I get up, go to the bathroom, and then make my way upstairs. I open the door with the fresh smell of poop! Cade is naked, diaper full of poop laying on the floor! I think God is trying to see how dedicated we are to Him, placing lots of obstacles in our way to get to church. So, I bring them downstairs, give Cade a bath, place them at the table for breakfast and go clean up poop. Then, on my way back into the kitchen I step in a puddle of dog pee. Ugh! So, off to clean up the dog pee too. Good thing is that we did make it to church! And, guess what? The triplets are back in their cribs! They might still be in cribs when they start kindergarten! LOL

Ok, so I have been busy...
I have not updated this blog since before Christmas. I know you can't imagine that I have been busy....but we have. I am going to try and update with just some pics. Since Christmas, we have celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary, Drew's 4th bday, and the triplets 2nd bday. Then in February, our oven caught on fire (twice), we got that fixed, my mom was in a car wreck (she is ok, but her car was totalled), we sold our SUV and are working on selling our minivan, and bought a volvo for Jon and a full size VAN for me! Kensie is starting to crawl and is wanting to do so much that her brothers and sister are doing. She is getting so big! She is my only chubby baby! She is pretty close to 20 pounds and only 9 months old! She is only one size of clothes away from Macie! The triplets are doing great! They just recently had their two year evaluation with Sooner Start (early intervention) and Cole and Macie did not qualify for services and Cade only qualifies because of speech. It is just amazing that they are caught up with their actual age! Especially Cole. I mean six months ago, he wasn't even walking yet! He was receiving physical therapy and has just taken off since he started walking. He is also the best talker right now. We are so blessed!!!
